As with all pre-emergent herbicides, proper application timing is critical. This product must be applied and watered in with approximately 1/4 inch of water prior to germination of target weeds. Although rains usually provide adequate moisture, you may want to water if it does not rain within 5 days of application. Following application, water deeply and infrequently. If you irrigate, allow the soil surface to dry. The soil surface should not be continuously wet. A short drying period is required between waterings for maximum effectiveness. Do not disturb soil surface after activating. This product is non-selective. DO NOT use on areas where grass seed or other desirable seeds are to be sown within 120 days. (Apply anytime after the second mowing or after plants are established.)
Lawns and Turf
SPRING APPLICATION: For crabgrass and other spring germinating weeds, apply just prior to the soil warming to germinating temperatures. 10 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. provides adequate control with yearly spring and fall applications. Up to 20 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. may be applied. This product has no post-emergent effect on established weeds.
FALL APPLICATION: For dandelions and other fall germinating weeds, apply in early fall after summer temperatures moderate. Use 10 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. It is recommended to double the application to 20 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. to provide better control for the first season.
Apply at the rate of 2 to 4 lbs. per 100 sq. ft. To maximize results, rake or lightly till no deeper than 1/4 inch into the soil surface. Repeat application every 5 to 7 weeks during the growing season. DO NOT USE UNTIL DESIRED PLANTS HAVE BECOME ESTABLISHED. This product can be safely applied around new transplants with well established root systems.

PREVENT Corn Gluten Meal
What is Corn Gluten?
Nature’s Creation® PREVENT Corn Gluten Spreadable is a non-selective natural pre-emergent herbicide which feeds turfgrasses, flowers, vegetables, trees and shrubs. Its natural pre-emergent herbicidal properties prevent germination of broadleaf weeds, annual and perennial grasses. This product works by inhibiting the feeder root development of germinating seeds. Because this product will not kill existing plants which have already germinated, it may be safely used around transplants and plants with established root systems. The nitrogen in this fertilizer will release slowly and feed your plants over a three to four month period without burning even in the hottest conditions. Nature’s Creation® PREVENT Corn Gluten Spreadable does not contain any synthetic chemicals so your family and pets can enjoy your lawn right after application.
