New Sod:

Spread 1/4” layer of Nature’s Creation^® Expanded Shale before laying sod. Water thoroughly for maximum water retention.

Potting or Container Plants:
Mix 1 part Nature’s Creation^® Expanded Shale with 5 parts of your soil mix in the container.

Annuals and Perennials:
Spread 1” Nature’s Creation^® Expanded Shale over the area to be planted. Work it into the soil 4”-8” deep. Water thoroughly for maximum water retention. Make additional applications whenever the soil is renewed for new plantings.

Vegetable Gardens:
Mix 40 lbs. of Nature’s Creation^® Expanded Shale per 10’x100’ section in the existing planted area or the area to be planted. Water in thoroughly.

Roses:
Before planting, spread 1 “ of Nature’s Creation^® Expanded Shale over the area to be planted. Work it in 4”- 6” deep. Water thoroughly after planting for maximum water retention.

Shrubs and Trees:
Prepare a hole 1/3 - 1/2 larger than the root ball of the tree. Mix 10% Nature’s Creation^® Expanded Shale with existing soil. Backfill hole with prepared mix, root ball should be level with ground.
