Nature’s Creation® Diatomaceous Earth Feed Grade is Mother Nature’s eco-friendly naturally organic material. Our product fits into the “Living Green” lifestyle.

Actually, Diatomaceous Earth is not an earth. It is the fossilized remains of microscopic shells created by one celled plants called DIATOMS. Not all deposits of Diatomaceous Earth diatoms present in those deposits are the same.

Nature’s Creation® Diatomaceous Earth Feed Grade is almost pure white and consists of 89% (and sometimes more) Amorphous Silicon Dioxide plus 28 trace minerals. Nature’s Creation Diatomaceous Earth Feed Grade does not swell, does not absorb nutrients and poses no long term hazard when used as an anti-caking agent in your animal’s feed.

Why fresh water vs. salt water Diatomaceous Earth?

Fresh water deposits of Diatomaceous Earth have a consistent diatom presence. Their fossilized shells have maintained their tubular shape. This shape and strength of the fossil shell is critical to its effectiveness and the deposit is also more consistent in its

purity of other elements that have settled in it. A fresh water deposit is confined to the run off water of its surrounding environment. A fresh water deposit in the mountains, where the Nature’s Creation® Diatomaceous Earth Feed Grade is mined from, formed during the volcanic period on earth when snow was pure and full of minerals. Its run off provided the water source these diatoms lived in. Salt water deposits contain a mix of types of diatoms of different shapes. Their fossilized shells are fragile and break easily. This renders them ineffective for our purposes. The salt water deposits are less predictable in their sediments.

This product is not the same as Diatomaceous Earth used in filtration such as swimming pools that is crystalline silica that is also a larger particle that has been heated to make it crystalline and should be avoided.  Nature’s Creation® Diatomaceous Earth Feed Grade is naturally occurring amorphous silica and contains less than .005% of natural occurring crystalline silica that is present in all natural water.

Mixing Rate:

Nature’s Creation® Diatomaceous Earth Feed Grade is an anti-caking agent to be mixed in animal feed at a rate not to exceed 2% of the dry weight of the total rations. This product can be mixed in the rations for dogs, cats, cattle, horses, chickens, sheep, goats, pigs, and other animals.
