Nature’s Creation® Garden Guide for June 2019Na
In most of Texas we have had a lot of rain and cooler than normal temperatures.
Most grasses are doing well but watch for fungal diseases in shaded areas that may not dry out fast enough. The moisture and humidity have also contributed to disease problems with many of our hot weather bedding plants including periwinkles and some heat loving perennials. Use Nature’s Creation® Fungicide with Corn Meal Horticultural Grade as a control and preventative.
Because of the optimal growing conditions. Lawn grasses are feeding more actively than
normal. A supplemental feeding this month with Nature’s Creation® Turf Food with Mycorrhizal Fungi is recommended to keep it grass green and healthy during the hot weather that is sure to come. The slow release poultry based formula is economical and will not burn tender new growth. It also helps grass clippings to decompose without robbing the soil of excess nitrogen.
Mosquitos are a real problem now. Use Nature’s Creation® CedarRepel Granules, Nature’s Creation® Cedar Repel Spray or Nature’s Creation® Garliccide to keep them away from living areas. Remember it is important to remove standing water sources where possible.
Finally, we have never seen Sowbugs or Pillbugs in such abundance as they are this year. You can easily keep them in check with a dusting of Nature’s Creation® Diatomaceous Earth Crawling Insect Control on the soil around tender plants. Sowbugs are particularly fond of Impatiens and Begonias.
